Saturday's rain didn't stop a celebration of Italian pride in Tappan.
Although workers had to use brooms to push away the puddles at the Masonic Park Fairgrounds on Western Highway, many showed up to enjoy the Sons of Italy in America's 13th annual Italian Feast and Festival.
"It's an unbelievable four-day event in the Town of Orangetown. We have thousands of people coming. We have great music, great food, a really good carnival. The atmosphere is unbelievable... tomorrow's going to be a beautiful day and enjoy your Italian feast. That's what this is," said feast coordinator Billy Barbera.
The Italian Feast and Festival will continue on Sunday with an outdoor Catholic Mass starting at 9:30 a.m.
The carnival will also be open on Sunday until 9:30 p.m.
