Protesters lined East Main Street in Mohegan Lake Saturday calling for the American Breeders pet store to be closed amid allegations of animal abuse.
The store owner Richard Doyle is set to face a judge over allegations that he allowed two animals to become so sick at his Danbury, Connecticut shop they had to be euthanized.
Many protesters say they have purchased animals from Doyle's pet store and they showed countless signs of neglect.
"We bought a Dachshund from him three weeks ago," says Barbara Bartko. "She has internal bleeding and I have to put her down."
The 55-year-old pet store owner is also accused of performing unlicensed surgery on a dog's infected eyelid.
Despite the stories, customers were still seen inside of American Breeders Saturday.
Doyle has pleaded not guilty to all charges against him.
He is scheduled to appear in Danbury Superior Court on March 23.
