A required educational forum for sex offenders is being held Halloween night in White Plains.
More than 160 sex offenders are at the Westchester County courthouse while children are out trick-or-treating. Keith Fadelici of Victims Assistance Services says the forum keeps the streets safer and helps sex offenders see the impact of their crimes.
Two child sex abuse survivors will also be at the courthouse to share their stories.
This is the 10th consecutive Halloween that Westchester has required sex offenders to attend the forum. Sex offenders in New York are also forbidden from wearing costumes or passing out candy to children on Halloween.
