14ds agoPride Month events are now underway across Westchester, and the progress pride flag is flying at the county office building in White Plains.
Additionally, the building's steps have been painted in rainbow colors.
The Westchester County LGBTQ+ Advisory Board and county Executive George Latimer hosted the flag-raising ceremony. Organizers emphasize that the flag is a symbol of unity, reflecting the county's commitment to celebrating diversity.
"We want to make sure that we are building community and highlighting our peers during this special month of the year. While pride should be celebrated every single day of the year, this is one month that we can highlight that," said Bruno Villalzhinay, a member of the Westchester County LGBTQ+ Advisory Board.
The flag has been raised every June since 2019.
