An expectant mother had a harrowing experience in Yonkers Sunday morning due to slick road conditions.
Katie Hackett, who is five months pregnant, lost control of her car along ice-covered Elm Street near Alder Street at around 7:45 a.m.
A neighbor captured Hackett's car sliding down the street from her window.
Hackett was on her way to a doctor's appointment at the time and says there was no indication that the road was that bad.
She recently took a defensive driving course, so when she started losing control of her car, she knew to pump the brakes and turn the wheel to avoid dozens of vehicles.
After sliding for about a quarter-mile, she crossed through the intersection at Williams Street, hit the sidewalk, a fire hydrant and then a car parked with a woman sitting inside.
Hackett, the baby and the woman sitting in the other car were not hurt, although both vehicles were damaged.
