One crime fighting canine is calling it a career.

K-9 "Kyle" came to the Town Of Poughkeepsie from Slovakia in 2015.

The German shepherd-mix partnered with Police Officer Vanja Mikelic.

"Kyle" trained in patrol, tracking, scent detection and more.

He was deployed nearly 1,000 times and sniffed out 10 crime suspects to name some achievements.

When he was not fighting crime, he did school demonstrations.

After nine years, "Kyle" will live out his retirement comfortably at home with Mikelic and family.
