The town supervisor of North Salem is warning of a possibly rabid coyote that attacked two people on Thursday night.
The warning was posted by Warren Lucas around 5 p.m. Thursday, and suggests one person was bitten on the leg and suffered a puncture wound.
They had been walking with a companion on Turkey Hill Road in the late afternoon when the attack occurred.
Lucas added that the animal is presumed to be rabid due to the fact that it attacked the tires of a car that stopped to help.
