Port Jervis woman sentenced to 9 years for arson attack

A Port Jervis woman was sentenced to nine years in prison for an arson attack in Port Jervis that endangered the lives of six people.

Dawn Hulse, 53, set multiple fires inside a home in 2022 while people were inside, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office. She also turned off smoke detectors and barricaded a door to prevent escape.

All six individuals inside the home were able to safely escape.

In addition to her prison sentence, Hulse will serve five years of post-release supervision.
