A Port Jervis woman was sentenced to nine years in prison for anarson attack that endangered the lives of six people.

Dawn Hulse, 53, set multiple fires inside a home in 2022 while people were inside, according to the Orange County District Attorney's Office. She also turned off smoke detectors and barricaded a door to prevent escape.

All six individuals inside the home were able to safely escape.

In addition to her prison sentence, Hulse will serve five years of post-release supervision.
