Port Jervis Mayor Kelly Decker has announced he will not seek reelection in November.
Kelly served on the Port Jervis City Council for 12 years and is going on 10 years as mayor.
The Democratic leader made the announcement at the end of his annual State of the City address. He said it's time to give someone else the opportunity to move the city forward.
In a statement, he said in part, "Different ideas inspire change and it is my hope that someone is elected that can offer a breath of fresh air to our city with positive hope for our future. This is not goodbye as this is the city that I was born and raised in. I will certainly have more time to volunteer myself in improving our city. However, it is also a break that I need."
