Three years after a man was stabbed to death inside his Port Chester home, a neighbor has been charged with the crime.
Port Chester Police Chief Richard Conway says it was the old-fashioned police work of detectives Thomas Munnelly and Christopher Krezminski that led them to a suspect in the 2011 killing of Anthony Guglielmo.
On Thursday, police arrested 20-year-old Jahkim McGee, a former neighbor of the victim, and charged him with murder and burglary.
Guglielmo's 14-year-old daughter found her father stabbed to death and lying in a pool of blood inside their Mortimer Street home. At the time, she was considered a person of interest, but McGee is the only person charged.
Police say this was a hard case because there were no solid leads or evidence. They say interviews were conducted and tips were received over the years that led to a break in the case.
McGee is already serving time for an unrelated crime. He faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted of killing Guglielmo.
