The polls have officially closed and now voters are awaiting results.
One of the biggest contests of the day was the Yonkers mayoral race. Current Mayor Mike Spano declared victory against Republican Bill Nuckel.
In Harrison, Republican Town Supervisor Ronald Belmont is being challenged by Democrat Elizabeth Schaper. And in Peekskill, Republican incumbent Frank Catalina is facing off against Democrat Kenneth Martin.
Another race is the battle for mayor in the city of New Rochelle. Democrat Noam Bramson is fighting to keep his job. He's being challenged by James O'Toole, who is running on the Independence party line.
And in the race for Putnam County DA, Putnam County Supervisor Robert Tendy defeated incumbent Adam Levy.
Voters in Westchester will also decide on a referendum to move up two county budget deadlines. If approved, the date required for the county executive to submit the capital budget to the Board of Legislators would move from Nov. 15 to Oct. 15. Also, the deadline to submit the main annual operating budget would change from Nov. 15 to Nov. 10.
