A new national poll shows Ted Cruz has taken the lead over rival Donald Trump just two days before the South Carolina primary.
The NBC News/Wall Street Journal shows Cruz with 28-percent of likely Republican voters while Trump has 26-percent and Marco Rubio has 17-percent. Ohio Gov. John Kasich is at 11 percent, Ben Carson at 10 percent and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush in last place with 4 percent.
The results are a major change from last month's NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, when Trump held a 13-point lead over Cruz, 33% to 20%. Cruz's 2-point edge is within the poll's margin of error, so it's not clear if the survey captures real movement in the race or is simply an outlier
Trump is dismissing the polls and says the numbers are not reliable.
