Investigators are asking for the public's help in finding a man wanted for stealing a woman's credit card and then buying thousands of dollars-worth of sneakers.
Police say the man approached the victim inside her building on East 183rd Street.
That is when he pulled the hood of her sweatshirt over her head while taking her purse.
News 12 is told she ran away to call 911 and when she came back she saw her purse with $150 and credit card was missing.
Police say the suspect was then spotted inside a sneaker store, where he used the credit card to buy $3,900 worth of clothing and sneakers.
They say he also took out $2,000 from a Chase bank using the same card.
The suspect was also seen returning to the apartment building where the robbery took place, with the sneakers he bought.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
