Dalewood Drive in Tallman has been blocked off for hours as Ramapo police investigate suspicious materials found inside a home.

Police say the materials are believed to be used in the making of illegal narcotics.

Men in hazmat suits were seen entering the back of 3 Dalewood Drive, with Tallman firefighters close behind outside. The Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, county hazmat team and local fire department are also on scene.

Ramapo police say there is no danger to the public and no arrests have been made. They are not releasing any additional information during the active investigation.

Neighbors say there was a fire at the home a few years ago and that it has been vacant since.

Authorities have not said what led them to the property or what specific items were found.
