Students are back in class in the Briarcliff Manor school district after a disruption Tuesday.

Officials say police were called after a suspicious note was found, prompting a brief evacuation of the high school and middle school buildings.

Superintendent James Kaishian said the note did not contain a specific threat but was considered concerning.

“Just out of an abundance of caution, we wanted to make sure that our buildings are safe,” Kaishian said. “Safety comes first and we're really proud of the collaboration we have with our law enforcement partners.”

Village police said the threat was not credible and classes resumed shortly after the incident.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
