Pleasantville police say there have been two instances over the past two nights where stolen cars ended up in crashes.
Police say a 2020 Mercedes Benz was stolen Monday from Memorial Plaza and ended up hitting parking meters. Police say an 18-year-old was charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property. They say the key was left in the car.
In another incident, police say a 2010 Honda Civic was stolen from Mount Pleasant on Sunday and ended up hitting a stone wall near the entrance to the Pleasantville Cottage School. Police say a 17-year-old in that case was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life threatening. He was charged with criminal possession of stolen property but could face charges in Mount Pleasant.
