Authorities are searching for a brazen bank robber they think may have struck two Orange County banks in a span of 24 hours.
New Windsor police say a suspect robbed a Citizens Bank on Windsor Highway Thursday and made off with an undetermined amount of cash. On Wednesday, a man attempted to hold up the Hudson Valley Credit Union in Middletown, but was unsuccessful, police say.
In both cases, witnesses say the suspect handed over a bag and demanded the bank teller fill it. A weapon was not used in either incident, and witnesses report a light blue or grey four-door sedan being used in both getaways.
Investigators are trying to determine if the same bandit hit both establishments. Anyone with information on either incident is advised to contact the New Windsor or Wallkill police departments.
