Police are searching for the driver responsible for a hit-and-run accident in Manhattan Friday night that killed a Yorktown man. Neighbors say the victims, Roger and Diane Roth, met every Friday night in New York City for dinner. Police say a gray Honda with Florida license plates sped through an intersection and plowed into the couple as they crossed 9th Avenue. The impact sent their bodies flying into the air. Roger Roth was killed at the scene and his wife is fighting for her life at a city hospital. The driver fled the scene. Neighbors on the couple?s street in Yorktown say they are in shock over news of the accident. Ed Witherell says he just saw Roger earlier in the week on his commute into Manhattan and can?t believe he?s gone. Police are investigating and searching for any surveillance video taken in the area of Chelsea where the accident happened.
