Police remove suspicious object from Yonkers resident's yard

A suspicious object that was found in the yard of a Yonkers resident has been successfully removed by law enforcement personnel.

Officials reported that the homeowner residing on Abner Place alerted authorities regarding the presence of the suspicious object. 

Responding to the call, the Yonkers Police Department's Emergency Service Unit, along with the Westchester County Police Department's Hazardous Devices Unit, arrived at the scene. As a precautionary measure, the area was cordoned off by law enforcement.

The Hazardous Devices Unit, which specializes in such scenarios, proceeded to safely remove the unidentified object. An ongoing investigation is being conducted by the police to determine the nature and origin of the object.
