A police officer's conduct is currently under review after a shoplifting incident at a Walmart in Newburgh was captured on camera.
According to authorities, the Newburgh officer was observed appearing to punch the suspect, who was seated in the front seat of a taxi. The suspect, identified as David Bardari, reportedly resisted arrest and attempted to steal the taxi after being apprehended for allegedly shoplifting from Walmart.
Bardari was issued an appearance ticket following the incident.
The Newburgh Police Department has stated that the officer's body-camera footage is being reviewed to determine if any department policies were violated.
