Police: Off-duty EMS worker stopping to help robbed at knifepoint

The town of Newburgh Police Department says the off-duty worker was flagged down on Route 9 west and Conway Road.

A EMS worker who thought someone needed help in Newburgh was robbed at knifepoint earlier this month.
The town of Newburgh Police Department says the off-duty worker was flagged down on Route 9 west and Conway Road.
When they pulled over, the suspect allegedly brandished a knife and stole the victim's wallet.
The suspect is described as Hispanic or Middle Eastern, mid-30s to early 40s, 5’5 to 5’9 inches tall, approximately 185 lbs, with a blotchy black beard. He was driving a grey four-door sedan.
