Cops say four or five people were in the home on Dunnigan Drive around 3:30 a.m. Saturday when a man entered the house.
Residents say the intruder, armed with a gun, entered through the rear sliding door and then confronted an elderly man in the living room. The man was pistol-whipped a number of times and had to be taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say the man fled the scene on foot without taking anything. They believe he was targeting someone that lives in that house and was looking for something specific. He is described by police as a black male, 5' 9" tall with a thin build, wearing gray hoodie sweatshirt.
