Iona College was briefly put into lockdown mode Saturday when a 911 caller claimed he was on campus with an assault rifle.
Police say the scare happened while hundreds of teens were at the campus for a video game convention.
The caller contacted Yonkers police at around 11 a.m., prompting officers to swarm the New Rochelle campus. Traffic into the school was shut down for hours as police searched the area.
Police say the search turned up nothing and they now believe the call was a hoax.
