Local and state police will be increasing patrols for drunken driving and underage drinking for this year's Halloween.
Sleepy Hollow Middle School teacher Peter Kennedy says he feels safer with the extra security. "It's a great time to cut loose, but of course safety comes first," says Kennedy.
Officials say there were more than 720 crashes last year that killed three people and injured more than 150 others. Also, around 200 people in New York were arrested for DWI.
There will be sobriety checkpoints set up, and police will be in both marked and unmarked cars throughout the area. The extra patrols are said to run from today through Sunday.
