Police say a couple was found dead in a Yorktown home that contained more than 125 cats.
The Yorktown police chief says his officers went to a home on Cordial Road on Monday night to do a welfare check.
They found the man and woman dead in their bedroom.
Police do not suspect foul play.
News 12 was told that authorities couldn’t even investigate the scene at first because cats were everywhere.
Many of the cats were taken from the home and brought to SPCA Westchester.
SPCA staff say that some of the 90 or so cats that came to them from the house have illnesses and parasites, but they are holding up well.
There are still as many as 50 cats still in the house.
