Police officers from across the state have bestowed an honor on one of their own chiefs.
Harrison Police Chief Anthony Marraccini has been named "Boss of the Year" by the New York State Shields. The "Shields," made up of police from across the state, honored the chief during a ceremony in the Bronx last night.
His colleagues say Marraccini was nominated because of the tremendous amount of respect he has gained, but Marraccini credits his department. "I'm humbled to even be considered for this type of award. But realistically, this success and this award, I owe to my men and women that serve the town of Harrison. They are truly dedicated and hardworking and they make me look good."
Chief Marriccini has dedicated 30 years of service so far to the Harrison Police Department.
