Police: 70-year-old Poughkeepsie man fatally struck by car on State Route 44
The man was attempting to cross the road just before 7 p.m. when he was struck by a 60-year-old Pleasant Valley resident driving West, according to initial reports.

A 70-year-old Poughkeepsie man was struck by a car and killed Thursday near Darrow Place on State Route 44.
The man was attempting to cross the road just before 7 p.m. when he was struck by a 60-year-old Pleasant Valley resident driving West, according to initial reports.
Authorities say the man was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. The area of the accident was also closed for three hours following the crash.
Authorities say the driver of the car is cooperating with police as they continue the investigation.
