Police say a 33-year-old man was arrested for assaulting a male with a rifle in Mamaroneck.

Erik Vazquez was fighting in the street with another man who was bleeding from the head when a call came into police. The 911 caller said Vazquez may have been carrying a rifle. When police searched the area they spotted the rifle used in the apparent incident.

The victim suffered a laceration to his forehead and injuries to his hand and is expected to recover, according to police.

Vazquez was released on $1,000 cash bail.
