Police arrested two teenagers Thursday who are allegedly responsible for leaving a trail of graffiti in a Yonkers neighborhood.
Michael Cabon, 18, and an unidentified 15-year-old were taken into custody shortly before 2 p.m. after allegedly scrawling tags on mailboxes and walls along Warburton Avenue. A third suspect got away.
"It's not good," says Cherrilyn Foster, of Yonkers. "It makes the community look awful."
Police say at the time of arrest, the teens had cans of spray paint in their possession, and their hands and clothes were smeared with red and black paint.
Yonkers landlord Bruce Lord believes a state-of-the-art teen center could help prevent these crimes.
"We can channel their energy in a different direction and guide them into productive citizens in our society," he says.
Building owners have 24 hours to clean up the graffiti or be fined.
