The victim of a racially motivated vandalism in Pleasantville is showing forgiveness to the young suspects.

The African-American woman says she looked outside her window at 399 Bedford Rd. Sunday to find three boys spray painting a slur on her apartment. The victim declined to give her name. Police quickly rounded up the suspects, who are white, so the victim could identify them. Authorities say the boys were 14 years old and younger. The victim says she will not press charges because she feels the suspects can learn more in the classroom than a courtroom.

Many neighbors say they can?t believe the incident happened in their usually quiet community. One resident says she used to leave her doors unlocked, but she feels that?s no longer an option.
