Work has resumed in full after pile driving was stopped for almost a month at the Tappan Zee Bridge due to noise complaints.
Work is also underway to reduce the complaints.
Millions of dollars are being spent at places like Salisbury Point, Bradford Muse and the Quay in Tarrytown to help residents deal with the effects of construction noise.
The cost of these projects, including installing new windows, is being picked up by the state and Tappan Zee Constructors, the group building the new bridge.
Several weeks ago, noise concerns forced the halt to pile driving at the Rockland end of the new span. It was found the work was exceeding noise levels set for the project.
Tappan Zee Constructors were given the OK to resume pile driving earlier this week.
The village of South Nyack has hired an outside firm and installed its own noise-monitoring equipment, next to the official monitor set up by state officials.
Salisbury Point residents didn't want to talk on camera, but they told News 12 off camera that the new windows seem to be working.
Officials say they do not expect any construction-related disruptions to traffic over the Labor Day weekend.
