Mount Vernon City School District is planning to start bringing students back into the classroom on the same day that the city's stay-at-home advisory goes into effect.
The school district outlined its reopening plans in a notice sent to parents.
Phase one, which begins on Monday, will have pre-K through third grade going back to school. Students in grades 4-8 will head back to school as part of the phase two reopening plan on Nov. 30. Grades 9-12 will go back to school on Dec. 14.
It promises enforced social distancing and strict adherence to CDC guidelines.
Mount Vernon's superintendent of schools renewing their commitment to keep students, staff and their families safe as possible, "while trying to provide the best educational programs and supports given our current circumstances."
