Travelers flying out of Westchester County Airport hit the skies early Tuesday during the holiday rush.
Nearly 50 million Americans are traveling by plane to be with family and friends, according to an airline trade group.
A few flyers told News 12 their plans were going smoothly. Others were hit with extensive delays, but it didn't seem to break their holiday spirit.
"I'm delayed a couple hours, but it's not big deal," says Jeffrey Kleinberg, who is traveling to Delray Beach in Florida.
Airport officials advise those flying with presents to avoid wrapping them before stashing them in their luggage. They say that will make it easier and faster to get through airport security.
