Peekskill receives state funding to revitalize downtown
Peekskill City officials received a big check from the state on Tuesday to help revitalize the downtown and connect it to the area's bustling waterfront.
Peekskill is one of 10 cities to collect an eight-figure check from New York state as a part of Gov. Cuomo's Downtown Revitalization Initiative.
The money is to be used, in part, to fix Peekskill's decaying infrastructure, create jobs, repair a parking garage and help to support the legendary Paramount Hudson Valley Theater.
