A man attempted to lure an 8-year-old Peekskill boy into his car over the weekend, police say.
Officials say the boy had stepped out of his Park Street home Saturday evening before a middle-aged man in a hooded sweatshirt called for the child to cross the street.
When the strange man noticed the boy's father was there, police say he fled toward Route 6 in a gray Dodge Neon.
Authorities ask anyone with information to call Peekskill police at 914-737-8000.
