Gov. David Paterson appeared at a Democratic business summit in Rye Sunday and alluded to plans to run for re-election.
"I am honored to be governor of the State of New York - not only for the next year and a half, but for the next four years after that," he said.
Paterson reminded the crowd he didn't campaign for the position - the governor has at times been called the "accidental governor" after taking over for the scandal-riddled Eliot Spitzer - but says in tough economic times there's still more work to do to change New York.
The governor received a standing ovation at the Rye Town Hilton during the New York State Democrats Spring Business meeting, and vowed to veto any proposal that takes spending over the rate of inflation and any legislation that increases property taxes.
