Yonkers parents have mixed reactions after learning of a possible bailout from the state to help struggling schools.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo vowed to prevent 100 layoffs in the Yonkers School District. He was at City Hall over the weekend proposing a bill that would pump money into struggling districts throughout the state, including Yonkers.

Yonkers School District has a $26 million budget gap that needs to be filled.

The City of Yonkers is still waiting to find out exactly how much money the schools will get, and whether state lawmakers will agree with Cuomo.

Some Yonkers parents say although they welcome the money, it's not enough to ensure that students thrive.

"One security guard for 464 students, one social worker for 2,400, that's what this money is going to do. It's going to maintain the chaos, " says Yonkers parent Rafael Guerrero.

The governor's office is still drafting the bill before it goes to the state Legislature for approval.
