Parents at one Orange County middle school claim their kids were punished for not taking the Common Core tests.
The Warwick School District parents say their children were forced to sit on a hard floor and do nothing for several hours.
Off camera, a number of parents from Warwick Middle School said their kids felt punished as they sat for three hours in silence on the gym floor.
During that time, they say only reading and one stretching break were permitted.
News 12 reached out to Warwick School Superintendent David Leach to acknowledge that students who opted out of the tests were asked to stay on the gym floor for three hours. He said it was not a punishment and that the students were allowed to do homework during that time.
