Pace University hosted its annual spring job and career fair.
Various companies and nonprofits took part in the fair. People at the fair said it's is a necessity for students beginning in their careers. "I know someone who's applied to like 300—like hundreds of jobs. I see averages of like going to 1,000 jobs. They can't find anything. They won't get accepted, they won't hear anything back," said Senior Nicole Rossi, and Junior Aman Matin, who were both attending the fair. New York had 372,000 job openings in December compared to half a million the previous month, according to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics. One nonprofit attendee says it is a tough job market right now. "I would say that it's harder. I would say that it's more competitive. I would say that the economy is going through transitions, but our young people are determined and that's why we're here," said Curran Cross who works with Neighborhood Initiatives Developmental Corporation. The fair was open to students of all levels.
