Local Congress members are pushing for an overnight curfew at Westchester County Airport and are asking the Federal Aviation Administration to look into it.
At present, the airport asks airlines and private jets to not fly between midnight and 6 a.m., but some are still choosing to fly because the request is voluntary.
Reps. Nita Lowey, Eliot Engel and John Hall say the primary issues are noise and environmental impact. The U.S. House of Representatives has passed legislation asking the FAA to consider a curfew. It now goes before the Senate.
