A newly approved cleanup plan could get things moving again in the Harbor Square Project in Ossining.
Development on the Harbor Square Project is several months behind after oil was discovered underground at the waterfront property. Ossining Village officials approved a resolution Tuesday that will save them from footing the bill for a $2 million cleanup project. Developer Louis Capelli came up with the plan, which requires him to apply for state funds. The plan also calls for the village to make changes to its land agreement so it is not responsible for the costs.
Meanwhile, there are many opponents to the project. Those opposed say they are outraged by the approval of the cleanup plan.
The proposed site for the project is between the village?s Metro-North station and the Hudson River. Part of the plans include building condominiums.
