Orange County is hoping a push to bring state athletic championship games to the region will give the local economy a boost.
County officials presented Middletown High School with a $6,000 check to help them get future New York State public school championship games.
The school has already hosted the state boys' soccer semi-finals and championships since 2010. It will also host the boys' lacrosse finals in June, and the boys' and girls' track and field championships in 2019.
Officials say the championships bring much-need revenue into the area.
