Orange County is gearing up to host its first festival since the pandemic.
The outdoor festival will be held Saturday at Thomas Bull Memorial Park in Montgomery. Gates open at 6 p.m., and fireworks begin at dusk.
News 12 is told that the event is usually held on the Fourth of July weekend but was postponed due to the pandemic.
This year, festival attendees will have to park 6 feet apart and remain in their vehicles.
There will also be no vendors or food available.
“It’s giving people the opportunity for something that across the Hudson Valley has been canceled,” says Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus. “A lot of people have been telling me or are iffy about it, whether we should do it. I think it’s a great thing. I think we can do it safely.”
Neuhaus says this event is one of several free socially responsible events planned for the summer.
