Orange County Sheriff Paul Arteta announced the creation of a new threat advisory committee on Friday.
The multidisciplinary team will focus on assessing targeted threats before acts of violence occur.
It consists of a lieutenant, social service workers, investigators from the sheriff’s office and other officials.
Arteta says the team will rely on public assistance and community reporting.
Informational sessions are set to begin this month at the sheriff’s office.
