A perceived threat against Pope Francis was intercepted Thursday afternoon in Mount Vernon.
Police say a man in his 20s posted a picture on Instagram that showed a picture of a rifle along with the hashtag "pope."
The Mount Vernon Police Department, FBI and Joint Terrorism Task Force responded to the 300-block of East Fourth Street where the suspect lives.
Officials say they confiscated the gun, which was legal. No arrest was made since it was not perceived as a legitimate threat.
