Hazing allegations made against the Tuckahoe High School football team have resurfaced as new allegations were brought to light.

The first accusations were made two years ago by the team's co-captain. The student claims a fellow athlete put his genitals in his mouth as he was asleep during an overnight trip. He also claims a coach relentlessly teased him about it afterward. An investigation revealed no district policies were violated.

On Sunday, parents got a letter from Superintendent Dr. Barbara Nuzzi, saying additional hazing allegations were brought to light back in September. Nuzzi says the school contacted police and Child Protective Services over the allegations, but she was informed a few weeks later the situation was not a police matter.

Nuzzi says the district has stepped up its anti-bullying awareness campaign with students. She hopes parents will use the incident as an opportunity to talk to their children about it.

The district is currently deciding whether head coach John D'Arco Sr. will return next year. Volunteer coach Lenny Carraturo says he was there the night the student allegedly got hazed and says he did not see or hear anything suspicious. He defended D'Arco, calling him an "amazing" person who has worked with children for more than 40 years.

D'Arco tells News 12 Westchester that the accusations are "old news" and have already been dealt with.
