Rockland County lawmakers are strengthening efforts to fight the heroin epidemic in the Hudson Valley.
District Attorney Tom Zugibe and the county executive announced a new action plan today that will use technology to target dealers, treat users, train adults and teach prevention.
The plan was unveiled at Rockland BOCES in West Nyack.
"This is not a scare campaign to try and shake people's attention it is a community action," said Zugibe.
Signs about heroin addiction will be placed outside school districts in Rockland County. The idea is to not remain silent, but to speak out about the epidemic.
The hope is that by joining forces, more can be done to save lives.
