An adult school aide is dead after a crash involving a school bus and state police vehicle in Dutchess County, officials say.
Officials say the crash happened on State Route 55 in Lagrange shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday.
The aide was pronounced deceased on scene by responding Lagrange Fire Department paramedics.
News 12 is told the school bus was with the Arlington School District and two adult students were on the bus. They were transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The bus driver and state trooper were also transported to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Those who live in the area say this intersection has always been dangerous. “My hands are tied. I don't know what to do anymore and I'm so scared a tractor-trailer will end up in my house killing my entire family," says Maria Mercaldi.
