A large boat that was docked at the South Norwalk Boat Club caught on fire Friday, fire officials say.
It happened just before 11 p.m. on Mack Street.
Firefighters found a 40' boat fully engulfed and the windy conditions caused the fire to spread to nearby boats.
Those vessels sustained heat and fire damage, officials say.
A total of 38 firefighters from Norwalk, Noroton and Stamford responded to the scene.
The large response was due to the risk of the fire extending and the risk people could fall into the water, according to authorities.
The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection responded because of possible environmental impacts from the fire or a fuel spill.
However, the fire did not cause any environmental impacts.
No one was injured.
