NYPD officer from Orangetown loses fight with cancer

A community in Rockland County is mourning the loss of an NYPD officer.
The Orangetown PBA posted a photo on its Facebook page remembering Officer Patrick McGovern.
The life-long Orangetown resident was one of the officers who responded to the attacks on 9/11.
The association says he died as a result of cancer stemming from the attacks.

Officer McGovern served with the 49th Precinct for the NYPD.
